Hip Pain
How to Ease Hip Pain and Stiffness – Without Having to Wait to See the Doctor, Without Taking Painkillers, Without Getting Painful Shots and Without Risking Dangerous Surgery.
If you’re living with bad hips, they’re painful, they’re stiff or they ache - it’s very easy to think that it’s “just something that comes with age,” it’s a bit of “wear and tear,” or that it’s nothing, and it’ll go away on its own.
There’s no obvious reason why it happened - but it doesn't seem to be getting any better!
If Hip Pain is something that is happening to you, know that YOU’RE NOT ALONE. We hear about Hip Pain all the time! As a matter of fact, Hip Pain is a common problem that we see at PRO Therapy.
When it comes to dealing with the issue of Hip Pain, everyone we see wants to know:
"Why is This Happening to me?"
or
"Why Am I STILL Suffering With This Hip Pain After Having It For Months?"
Most people think that when they’re suffering with Hip Pain, it will magically go away on its own.
They think that they’ll wake up one morning and like “magic” it’ll be as if the Hip Pain never happened. But in reality, several months later still dealing with that same Hip Pain, and many times it's even worse than when it started!
Does This Sound Familiar?
Another scenario we see in our physical therapy clinics is that someone visits their Doctor's office, the Doctor suggests to rest for a while, writes a prescription for painkillers, and says to "come back if it's not better in 6 weeks."
Fast forward 6 weeks, and they’re back in the Doctor's office, usually with increased Hip Pain. The Doctor simply recommends a stronger dosage of pain pills and more rest. This is madness and explains why most people just end up "living with" their Hip Pain.
Has This Type of Thing Happened to You?
Maybe you’ve been given different or conflicting advice from so many different people. Maybe you’ve been told not to do this thing because it will only make the pain worse, or maybe to do this stretch because it will make the pain go away.
It’s very confusing to know exactly what to do – and that’s just to avoid making Hip Pain worse!
As a result of all this confusing advice, it often leads people to not do anything at all and put off making a choice about what to do to help fix what is causing their Hip Pain. Even worse than waiting, people are left to just believe this is now a “part of life” – Like it’s completely normal to have this Hip Pain, and it’s “just the way it is.”
Is This How You Feel Too?
If You’re Currently Suffering With Hip Pain, Let Us Tell You Seven Reasons Why It May Be Lasting Longer Than It Should:
- You hoped it would go away on its own – but it didn’t.
- You went to your Doctor who recommended “rest” and wrote you a prescription for painkillers - but they did nothing to really fix the problem, they just “masked” the problem, and when the pills wore off, you were back to having the Hip pain.
- Someone you trust (family member, friend, etc.) told you this was just a way of life, and that everyone your age gets Hip Pain, so you just accepted it.
- You've tried different healthcare professionals or been to physical therapy clinics in the past, but nothing they said or did seemed to help you.
- You decided to get a few “massages” in hopes that they would "work out" whatever the issue was – and while they were nice and relaxing, they didn’t do anything to fix it long-term.
- You searched the Internet (Google, YouTube, etc.) for different exercises, but either they didn't do anything, or made the Hip Pain worse.
- You decided to officially “rest” because the Hip Pain was so severe, but it’s still a daily problem.

What can I do to get rid Of My Hip Pain Quickly?
Well, here are four things you can do:
- First, you need to make a decision about getting help – There are so many people who put off getting help for so long because they incorrectly think it will spontaneously get better on its own, and “go away with time.” But 6 months down the road find themselves still in pain, still putting up with it, nothing has changed, with the exception that maybe the pain is worse.
- Do the RIGHT exercises – One of the most helpful things you can do to ease or get rid of your Hip Pain is doing the CORRECT exercises with appropriate progression. These exercises are given to you by one of our expert Physical Therapists. The proper exercises will allow you to again move freely and reduce the pain quickly! They will also make sure the problems don't come back anytime soon (or aggravate your Hip like the wrong exercises can do).
- Avoid prolonged sitting and long periods of rest – The truth is, you and I were not designed to sit. When you sit and flex your Hips, you’re putting your Hips in un-natural positions which Hips aren’t built to be in for too long. Something else that would be helpful, along with hands-on treatments, would be to get personalized strengthening/flexibility exercises that help improve your posture. These can also get you back to healthy and active as quick as possible.
- Get real, “hands-on” Physical Therapy – Physical Therapy is proven to help people with Hip Pain. In fact, at PRO Therapy, Hip Pain is a common condition we see and treat. If your Hip Pain is affecting your ability to do your job, keeping you from being active, threatens your independence or gets in the way of spending time with your loved ones – PRO Therapy can help get you back to doing what you need, want, and love to do quickly!
